Towards Becoming a Certified Wellness Coach
Becoming a Certified Wellness Coach is a natural next step on my path to prevention. I’m excited to finally take the leap, and will be starting courses this Monday! I grew up in a pretty healthy household. I remember when I was young I was given a small yellow book that detailed natural remedies to many sicknesses and what foods could help support your overall well-being. From that moment, I became very tuned into healthy eating. I loved going to the local health food stores (before there was Wholefoods). However, this is only one part of well-being.
Overall, becoming a wellness coach requires dedication and commitment to personal growth and development. It requires a strong understanding of the science of behavior change and the ability to connect empathetically with clients in order to help them achieve their goals. As a wellness coach, it is important to prioritize self-care practices in order to prevent burnout and maintain a healthy coach-client relationship.
It’s also very important to constantly update knowledge and skills in order to remain relevant and effective in a coaching practice. By attending workshops, conferences, and continuing education courses, I’ll stay informed about the latest research, trends, and best practices in the industry.
As with any profession, it’s important to also gain formal training, from accredited programs and certifications. This provides the necessary knowledge and skills to work with clients and tailor wellness plans to their unique needs (everyone is an individual, and your plan should be too!).
I’m excited to share my journey with all of you, and hope that soon, I can have the opportunity to create meaningful and transformative experiences for you
In summary, becoming a wellness coach requires dedication, commitment, and a genuine desire to support others in their journey towards health and well-being. By cultivating your own self-awareness, setting strong boundaries, and prioritizing self-care, you’ll be able to show up fully for your clients and create meaningful and transformative experiences for them.
As a wellness coach, you have the potential to make a significant impact on your clients’ lives and contribute to creating a healthier and happier world.
